How do I fix misaligned IO shield?
I first put in the standoff screw that is closest to the shield. Sometimes you need to use that as a pivot to get the motherboard firmly against the shield so you can put in the next standoff screw. Leave the screws a bit loose until you get them all in, then tighten them up a bit at a time in rotation.

the i/o shield only grounds if you don’t take off the little metal tabs that touch the ports. i accidentally took all those off so not only is the motherboard not being grounded by that plate, but it’s only being held up by the ports on the motherboard. but you should have zero problems without a plate.
