Why does Python use Elif and not else if?
The elif statement allows you to check multiple expressions for TRUE and execute a block of code as soon as one of the conditions evaluates to TRUE. However, unlike else, for which there can be at most one statement, there can be an arbitrary number of elif statements following an if.
What is difference between if and if else in Python?

Can you use if instead of Elif?
elif is indented more than if, before another block encloses it, so it is considered inside the if block. and since inside the if there is no other nested if, the elif is being considered as a syntax error by Python interpreter.
Can we write else if without else?
If you require code to run only when the statement returns true (and do nothing else if false) then an else statement is not needed. On the other hand if you need a code to execute “A” when true and “B” when false, then you can use the if / else statement.
