How long do SIA results take?
Results are published online within 10-14 working days after your examination date. You will be notified by SMS and email when they are ready to view – in the rare case your results are delayed, we will always keep you informed.
What is the pass rate for SIA test?

The pass mark is 70%. And there are 40 questions in each test. That means you need to get a score of 28 or more out of 40 to pass the test.
How do I become a licensed door supervisor?
To apply for the Door Supervisor Licence, the SIA requires you to complete formal training and pass the assessment. The course is assesed by 4 multiple choice exams and a practical exam.
Can you do SIA license online?
Are all SIA training courses online? The most common ways are by enrolling on to an online SIA training course where the content will be accessed online or by enrolling on to a classroom SIA training course where the course will be taught in an in-person classroom format, at a given location.
Can I use my SIA licence as ID?
The purpose of displaying the SIA licence is not as an identifier, but as proof that the wearer has the right and the training to do that job. Is SIA course easy?
The course is a lot of fun and very easy to pass. I did the course when it first came out, it must be 12/13 yrs ago now. Its a bit of a paper filling exercise, as once you’re in the role, you won’t use it much. Good luck and enjoy.
How much does a SIA badge cost?
It costs £190 to apply for 1 licence. All licences last for 3 years – except for a vehicle immobiliser licence, which lasts for 1 year. You may need to apply for more than 1 licence. If so, we will apply a discount of 50% to the additional licences.

All Premises Licences carry a mandatory condition requiring any door staff used to be registered with the SIA and therefore a Designated Premises Supervisor or Premises Licence Holder may be prosecuted for breach of that mandatory condition in the event that unlicensed door supervisors are used.
Can I get help paying for a SIA Licence?
Yes. Employees in the private security industry are normally expected to have an SIA licence and, in most cases, you won’t be reimbursed by your employer. HMRC and the Security Industry Authority have negotiated an arrangement that means you can claim tax relief on the full cost of your SIA licence fee.
